Yaacob Dweck

Yaacob Dweck is an historian of early modern Judaism. His work explores reactionary movements and figures that redefined Judaism's intellectual framework, with a focus on messianism, mysticism, and their antagonists.

His current projects include a study of contempt for print among early modern Jewish intellectuals, a monograph on the impact of the Spanish Expulsion, and a Hebrew edition and an English translation of Leon Modena’s Ari Nohem.

Dweck also translates Hebrew novels, and is now at work with Nicholas de Lange, his long-time collaborator, on a translation of S. Yizhar’s Days of Ziklag, one of the great Hebrew novels of the twentieth century.
