Yaacob Dweck is an historian of early modern Judaism. His work explores reactionary movements and figures that redefined Judaism's intellectual framework, with a focus on messianism, mysticism, and their antagonists. 

He is the author of Dissident Rabbi: The Life of Jacob Sasportas (Princeton University Press, 2019) and The Scandal of Kabbalah: Leon Modena, Jewish Mysticism, Early Modern Venice (Princeton University Press, 2011). His forthcoming books include a new Hebrew edition and English translation of The Roaring Lion by Leon Modena, to be published by Oxford University Press in the Gross Library of Jewish Philosophy in April 2027, and Gershom Scholem: A Collective Biography, which will appear in the Learned Lives series with the American Philosophical Society Press.

His current projects include a monograph on rabbinic reactionaries in the early modern Sephardic diaspora and a study of contempt for print among Jewish intellectuals. 

Dweck also translates Hebrew novels and other prose.
